John Williams's score for Close Encounters of the Third Kind is very much an homage to Ravel and the sound is extremely impressive. This 1977 recording was transferred from the original analog 2 track 1/4" master tapes at Bernie Grundman Mastering directly using a 24 bit / 192 kHz converter to preserve every nuance of orchestral detail. Very nice demo disc that puts you at the recording.
