Ana Caram's music is defined by the blending of traditional Brazilian rhythms with the sounds of American Jazz. She is a true protégé of Antonio Carlos Jobim, who sought to bring the musical culture of Brazil and the United States together. It can be said that Jobim's greatest contribution to music was combining the samba with the sounds of 50's West Coast Jazz. Taking Jobim's lead, Ana Caram's Hollywood Rio blends the sounds of her roots in her native Sao Paolo with the music of Los Angeles.
